Description

48 Vdc Alternator 28 kw
Linz PMC4-48/500 — 48 VDC, 500 A, 4-Pole DC Alternator

The Linz Electric PMC4-48/500 is a heavy-duty, 9-phase brushless DC alternator engineered for 48 V power systems in telecom, hybrid generator, and battery-charging applications. Operating from 1300–2100 RPM, it delivers up to 28 kW at 1500 RPM with ±0.5% electronic voltage regulation and exceptionally low output ripple (<1% without a battery), ensuring clean, stable DC power for sensitive loads.

Built around Linz’s PHASE 9 platform, this model integrates a forced-ventilated rectifier rated to 500 A DC (up to 380 A at 1,500 RPM), IP23 environmental protection, and thermal trips safeguarding the stator and rectifier. A SAE coupling simplifies engine integration, and the output features a high-current connection socket for straightforward and durable cabling into 48 V DC distribution panels or battery banks. It is commonly used on Aurora diesel generators for dedicated 48 V DC systems.

  • Voltage / Regulation: 48 VDC nominal (adjustable 45–60 VDC) with AVR; over-excitation & under-speed protection
  • Current & Power: up to 500 Adc (rectifier), 28 kW @ 1500 RPM; typical efficiency >87%
  • Speed / Poles: 1300–2100 RPM, 4-pole low-voltage DC alternator (PHASE 9 series)
  • Cooling & Ripple: forced-air rectifier cooling; ripple <1% without battery
  • Protection: IP23 enclosure; thermal trips on stator and rectifier; S1 continuous duty
  • Mounting: SAE coupling; optional SAE 3/4/5 flanges available (per series accessories)
  • Connections: high-current output socket for positive/negative DC leads to 48 V generator panels or telecom cabinets
  • Compliance: Manufactured to EN 60034-1, EN 60204-1, EMC standards (EN 61000-6-2/-6-4, EN 55014-1 / EN 55011)
  • Typical Uses: telecom DC plants, hybrid gensets, external battery banks, 48 V light towers
